Ingosstrakh says Russian satellite firm fails to insure all apparatuses
MOSCOW, Oct 6 (PRIME) -- The Russian Satellite Communications Company, a federal satellite operator, has failed to insure all communications space apparatuses of the Express series, as the market’s health is close to critical, Alexander Podchufarov, vice president of insurance company Ingosstrakh, said Thursday at a SatComRus forum.
“The state of the insurance market is close to critical; only the Russian space industry had U.S. $662 million in losses. Only Express AM33, Express АМ22, Express AM44, Express АТ-1 and АТ-2, as well as Express AMU-1 are insured 100%, and satellites Express АМ5, Express АМ6 and Express АМ8 are insured by only 70%,” Podchufarov said.
The Russian Satellite Communications Company’s satellite group counts 13 space apparatuses.
